Late last summer I teamed up with my talented friend and foodie, Aran Goyoaga, to host a baby shower for the beautiful mom to be, Jenn Elliott Blake. It was such a fun day filled with some of Jenn’s closest friends in the industry all celebrating the upcoming arrival of baby Augustus James. And to top it all off, we were lucky enough to have Dorothée Brand of Belathée capture the special day.

We must have done something right because Domino Magazine was gracious enough to feature the event and share it with their design savvy online audience. In all honesty, Domino has been somewhat of a design bible to me ever since their first issue back in 2004. So it was quite an honor to play even the tiniest part in their publication.

I’ve highlighted some of my favorites photos from the event below. For the article in full, click HERE. Thank you again, Domino!

“Aran and I met up a few weeks before the event. We really trust each other’s talents, so we vaguely discussed the menu which would entail fresh yet vibrant ingredients and the decor, which we wanted to evoke a boyish hint minus the traditional cliche elements. I focused on the design and decor, while Aran focused on the food and drinks.”  Katie Hackworth

“I wasn’t really sure how it was going to come together until the morning of. I had an old branch, twine, and two buckets of hellebores. I started playing around and that was what evolved!” — Katie Hackworth

“The studio is equipped with a small working kitchen that’s perfect for food and floral prep. The space is a designer’s dream with white paneled walls, rafters, and all the natural light one could ask for.” – Katie Hackworth
